Consumer group Which? have accused Apple of “significantly overstating” the battery life of its iPhone handsets
Which? have tested nine models of iPhone, mobile phones produced by Apple, in a new report whilst carrying out tests and it seems that battery life in those tested do not match the figures that Apple claim.
As we all know, the battery life of any modern smartphone, if that be an Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy or Note, Google Pixel and so on, can vary depending on the amount of time it's used, how often you charge it and what you do on it (eg watching movies, playing high resolution games).
Apple claim its iPhone XR, which is its 'budget friendly' device to rival the likes of Samsung's Galaxy S10e, can last up to 25 hours. However, in tested carried out by Which?, the iPhone XR lasted a total of 16 hours and 32 minutes.
How do Which? test out these mobile phones, which including them testing HTC and Nokia smartphones, as well as the iPhone XR? They charge brand new brought phones and full charge them, before timing the phones by making continuous phone calls.
Apple said we "...stand behind our battery life claims. With tight integration between hardware and software, iPhone is engineered to intelligently manage power usage to maximise battery life."
