Snap, Inc, who own Snapchat are looking into the possibility of being able to add music to posts in Snapchat
This feature already exists on TikTok and on the Stories feature within Instagram, where you can add music tracks to posts from various artists to give your posts that extra pop.
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and The Verge report that Snap Inc are looking into possible agreements with Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group in order to make this exciting feature come to life. No deals, as we we know of at the moment, have been made yet.
If Snap Inc manage to obtain music licences from those major music companies, it'll mean that the popular application on smartphones can take a new step in competing with the likes of TikTok and Facebook Messenger as you can add music in their app now, too.
Snapchat is only available for use on smartphones and tablets and a widely used and popular feature are the various Filters and Lenses that Snapchat offer up which use AI to make your face become a dog, baby or an older man or woman, for example.
